Registrations are now open for The Right Focus 2025
The Right Focus programme runs from September to May. The key steps are as follows:

• Link in! Trócaire staff will contact you to arrange a workshop on Global Justice and Documentary Film Making
Get creative! Start working on your documentary
• Link in! Arrange an optional visit from Trócaire staff or online session to check progress and troubleshoot any issues or problems
That’s a wrap! Complete your documentary and enter into competition.

Register Now for The Right Focus 2025The Right Focus is Trócaire’s documentary film making programme, exploring global justice issues through the lens of short documentary films. It is aimed at young people in Post Primary schools and Youth Groups throughout Ireland who have a passion for global justice, are interested in documentary film making, and want to make a difference.
Documentary film making is one of the most powerful ways to raise awareness and communicate with a wide audience on global justice issues, to bring these injustices front and centre in people’s minds, and hopefully inspire them to take action, and make a difference. All you need is a passion about a global justice issue, a smart phone, and the techniques you will gain through the programme.
Documentaries must be uploaded to Trócaire using the appropriate link. When you are ready to upload your entries, please request the link from:

When uploading your entries there are a number of questions to answer. Please answer ALL questions as fully as possible to help with registering and shortlisting the documentaries.
The third year of The Right Focus has come to an end, culminating in the final held in the Lighthouse Cinema, Smithfield, Dublin on Wednesday May 15th. Over 40 documentaries were entered into this years competition from a range of schools and youth groups from across Ireland. The documentaries were judged and shortlisted by the Development Education team, and 12 were shortlisted for screening at the final. The audience then voted for their top three documentaries on the day, and those scores were added to the judges scores to find out the winners!

The winning team will have the opportunity to work behind the scenes on a sports documentary with RTÉ over the coming months.
