Helping Hands: A Development Education Resource for Early Childhood Educators

Welcome to Trócaire’s most recent development education resource for Early Childhood Education. The resource consists of:

• An educators’ booklet containing guidance for educators and a series of learning experiences.
• A photo-pack of 12 full colour photocards to support the learning experiences, which can be downloaded below or ordered FREE in hard copy from here.
• Three, printable posters which illustrate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in a child-friendly way.

These resource introduce two young children, Nomatter and Forward who live in a small village in Zimbabwe. It explores their daily lives, as well as the challenges they and their family face against a backdrop of food insecurity, climate change and Covid-19.

Our resources our linked to the Aistear curriculum framework and the Primary curriculum (Junior & Senior Infants), and to the Northern Ireland preschool framework and Foundation Stage curriculum.

CPD Workshops
