Commitment on increase of overseas aid is positive but not a new commitment

Trócaire has been calling for the target of 0.7% of Gross National Income (GNI) to be met by 2025 in order to be able to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

The world’s refugee population is more than five times the population of Ireland. These people have had no choice but to give up their livelihoods, uproot their families and risk their lives to journey to another country just for a chance of survival.

New videos highlight the challenges that people face living in displacement camps in Kachin.  

On the seven year anniversary of Myanmar’s Kachin conflict escalating, Trócaire has released three new videos highlighting the lives of over 100,000 displaced people living in camps.

Human rights garden scoops Gold at Bloom

Protest at Bloom 2018

Trócaire won Gold at Bloom 2018 for its garden that brought to life the stories of human rights defenders. 

Trócaire's garden of resistance represented the plight of human rights defenders who are risking their lives and safety to protect their homes, way of life and communities from exploitation and eviction. The three areas of the garden featured our work in Palestine, Guatemala and Zimbabwe.
