Over 50 Trócaire education resources now available for distance learning

Trócaire has been to the forefront of Development Education and Global Citizenship for many years. Over that time we have created some fantastic resources that can be used by educators, teachers, youth workers, parents and learners themselves.

During these extraordinary times we have also created a new competition for young people called the Trócaire Game Changers Home Challenge.

This is a competition for young people who want to change the world and believe games are a way to do this. It is a fantastic opportunity for young people to engage with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and have a lot of fun while they do it.

The competition is open to young people of all ages and prizes will be awarded to the best entries. The closing date is 30^th June and entries can be submitted by post or electronically.

Poetry Competition

Trócaire’s annual all-Ireland poetry competition is in partnership with Poetry Ireland. This year’s theme: “Standing Her Ground” uses the extraordinary stories of Angela and Madris. These are two brave mothers in Honduras and Kenya (featured in the post primary resource), who are supporting their families by standing up for their right to earn a living on their land.

The competition is FREE to enter and is open to young people, children and adults alike, at all stages in their writing careers, and there are some great prizes.

Entries can be made online or by post. Full details are also available on Poetry Ireland’s website. Closing date 12th June 2020.
