Community fundraising is hugely important to us at Trócaire.  It helps to raise vital funds needed to support the world’s most vulnerable people and it can also bring people together in a show of solidarity.  We have lots of ideas for volunteers who are interested in fundraising for our work but we also welcome other creative ideas you may have! 

As well as raising funds, another important part of our work is raising awareness in Ireland about the root causes of poverty and injustice.  We want people in Ireland to continue to care about global justice, but also to understand the factors that cause people to live in poverty and it is for this reason that we attend public events throughout the year. 

Our volunteers join us at festivals, family days and community events throughout the year.  Help us to bring our campaigns to the public in a fun and interesting way.  You will learn more about the issues we work on and get a chance to spread that knowledge and raise vital money for our work overseas. 

Examples of Community Fundraising and Public Events volunteering:  Music Festivals, Cultural Events, Community Walks, Marathons, Christmas Markets, Poetry Gatherings, Educational Days and Events.
