Trócaire submission to the Green Paper on Energy Policy in Ireland

Trócaire's submission to the Green Paper on Energy Policy for Ireland highlights the linkages between Irish energy policy, climate change and the impact of climate change on efforts towards poverty reduction in developing countries.

It recommends that Irish energy policy should comply with a target of at least 80% reductions in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, that it should put us on a pathway to phase out of fossil fuels and shift to renewable sources of energy, and that energy sources that cause rights abuses in developing countries such as imported biofuels should be avoided.
