The 1985 Trócaire Development Review explores two key issues in development – official development assistance (ODA), and aid and trade agreements.
In particular, topics under discussion include Ireland’s ODA in the context of UN targets for development, public attitudes to ODA, the comparative value of aid provision across different countries, the financial crisis being faced in multilateral aid, the role of the Lome trade negotiations, the Multifibre Agreement (MFA) in the textile industry, and the role of the EU policy on agriculture.
