In 2015 Pope Francis wrote an open letter, called Laudato Si’, to the people of the world. The words laudato si’ mean ‘Praise be to you’ and they were the first words of the great prayer ‘The Canticle of Creation’ composed by St Francis of Assisi. In his letter the Pope discusses the damage being caused to planet Earth by humans and our responsibility
to make urgent changes to our lifestyles in order to protect the planet.
