Pre-positioned funding as an approach to advance localisation and locally-led humanitarian action

Trócaire has recently piloted a new model for humanitarian funding to enable timely and locally-led responses in five countries: Sierra Leone, Malawi, Rwanda, Myanmar and Nicaragua. This report captures learnings from the pilot and initial rollout of the ‘Pre-positioned Funding’ model for humanitarian response. A simple and easily replicable innovation, this model has enabled prompt and needs-based responses to localised emergencies, while also having a strong impact on advancing localisation.
