Nexus for Resilient Lives

Complex crises in Ethiopia driven by conflict and climate related events have become increasingly common. This demands not only urgent humanitarian assistance and protection, but the collective action of a broader coalition of actors led locally to address the root cause of crises and prevent their occurrence in the first instance. Such a nexus approach involving humanitarian, development and peace actors reflects a joint partnership between OPA, CIFA, health workers, communities and authorities from Ethiopia, and CAFOD, SCIAF, and Trócaire at the international level. An inclusive participatory community centred approach built on existing competencies prompted capacity sharing and led to shared outcomes equivalent to more than the sum of the programme parts.
