“Mayan Peoples’ voices regarding defence and restoration of collective rights through strategic litigation”, produced by Trócaire Guatemala in 2022, focuses on two experiences of strategic litigation to address crimes committed against Mayan indigenous peoples or entire Mayan communities in Guatemala. The first is the genocide against the Ixil people and the second is the criminalization of Mr. Fausto Sánchez Roblero, ancestral authority of the Maya Mam people of San Pablo, San Marcos. The document focuses on the experiences and contributions of those affected to the strategic litigation processes.
