1.5 million Syrians have sought refuge in Lebanon since the outbreak of the Syrian war in 2011. Lebanon’s response to refugee populations has been largely informal with the Government of Lebanon consistently opposing the establishment of formal refugee camps. As a result, Lebanon hosts 6,430 informal tented settlements (ITSs)/ camps that home 304,465 individuals.
