Baseline Study of the Flora Offaka Sub County, Arua District, Uganda

Climate change and biodiversity are closely interconnected. Biodiversity is affected by climate change, with negative consequences for human well-being.  Biodiversity, also makes an important contribution to both climate change mitigation and adaptation. Conserving and sustainably managing biodiversity is critical to addressing climate change.

Using biodiversity in the fight against climate change is about responding to variety with variety.  For this reason, the Ethnobotanical Study undertaken by ADRAA and Trocaire in Offaka Sub County in Uganda is an important contribution to support planning and resource management in the face of climate change.

It is intended this research will assist the community, leaders and government officials to debate choices and identify approaches and strategies that ensure more resilient livelihoods, well-being and environmental sustainability.
