Trócaire at the 2010 Afri Famine Walk

Trócaire's Justin Kilcullen was one of the three leaders of the 2010 Afri Famine Walk. This annual event marks the anniversary of a tragic walk in 1849, when hundreds of starving Irish peasants trudged through the snow on a futile ten-mile death march for food.

Come and join us on the Afri Famine Walk 2010

One bitterly cold night during the Irish Famine in 1849, hundreds of starving Irish people struggled for ten miles on foot along a mountain path through the snow from Louisberg to Delphi Lodge in the hopes of finding food.

Today, Trócaire is campaigning on behalf of the 1-in-6 of the world's population which is still living with hunger every day.  Find out more about our campaign in our Take Action page.
