It is always odd being in a place that is the current subject of the international media’s fickle glare. Yesterday: Zimbabwe. Today: the Congo. Tomorrow: who knows?

But today, at least, it is the Congo that the international editors are concerning themselves with. The Democratic Republic of Congo, that is. And that is where I find myself, trying to discover the stories that represent the situation fairly, in the midst of so much madness.
