Marketing Data Analyst - 11/ODCA/010A

Description of Department: 
The Information Technology (IT) Department is based in Maynooth and services the IT requirements of Trócaire’s entire organisation. This team includes a Systems Analyst who is heavily involved in the development of our Salesforce application and database capabilities. Members of the IT team work closely with the Fundraising & Marketing Department, who are responsible for raising income from the public in Ireland, engaging with donors and potential supporters. The Customer Relationship Management (CRM) function sits within this space to drive strategies around retention, loyalty and upgrade. Trócaire’s Salesforce application is central to this work. This role will sit within the IT team, with a dotted line to the CRM Coordinator.
Scope of role: 
The primary focus of this role will be to provide analyst support to the organisation. This will involve assistance with different income reporting requirements, some pulling of lists for a range of outbound campaigns, and responding to the other bespoke and automated reporting needs, across campaigns and supporter segments. Much of analysis conducted in the coming months will be contributing to our supporter understanding and yield development opportunities to further optimise our database. To this end, there is the requirement for this person to work alongside our systems analyst to assist in the rollout of this work. There is a strategic aspect to this role, and competencies in terms of the interpretation and presentation of results will also be key, as will the ability to convey recommendations confidently.

Key Duties: 

• To make an active contribution to the delivery of Trócaire’s F&M strategic plan through advanced mining of our supporter database.
• To work with F&M Officers, our Campaigns team and wider organisation to inform communications planning and targeting with timely provision of information and recommendations.
• To work with internal teams to design tailored ad hoc reports and supporter lists to maximise effectiveness of campaign assessment.
• Supporting the CRM Coordinator in the development of a supporter segmentation, to leverage supporter value and create a cross engagement holistic profile.
• To support our Systems Analyst in database administration and development, and to support on running campaign lists as requested.
• Work to ensure that Trócaire’s applications are used to their full potential through smart manipulation of data to inform improved supporter interactions.
• Work as part of a team to ensure that the database is fit for purpose to deliver unit needs through continuous improvement and development.
• To assess current data quality of key fields across segments and provide data to inform strategies for data improvement & enrichment.
• To develop a continuous view of Trócaire’s contactable database through an analysis of existing contact information, opt outs and communication preferences.
• To track Trócaire’s supporter trends among key segments and work with the CRM Coordinator to determine factors driving these trends through mining the information on our database.
• To interrogate the performance of Trócaire’s 2011 campaigns by segment with a view to informing future targeting & reporting.
• To take on other duties as required.

Requirements for job: 

Person Specification – Essential Requirements (E)

• Bachelor degree in relevant field
(E) Experience 
• Minimum 4-5 years experience in data analysis
• Ideally 1-2 years experience in database development
• Experience in marketing/CRM planning/segmentation strategy beneficial
(E) Skills 
• **Advanced Excel and MS Access skills & confident in running advanced queries and reports
• **Advanced Microsoft SQL Reporting skills
• Competency in advanced queries using MS SQL
• **Competency in Salesforce SOQL, Apex and Visual force
• Strong presentation skills
