Emmet Bergin

I'm based in our head office in Maynooth but I support our Southern African programmes, which covers Angola, Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. With colleagues I work to find solutions and profile issues emerging in Southern Africa to policy makers in Ireland and, through networks, to decision makers in Europe. I also try and ensure that developments and learning in Ireland are communicated well to the team working in the region.

In my spare time, I've become addicted to cycling, since I recently started cycling to work from Dublin to Maynooth every day. I also enjoy Aikido, but in the last two years my practice has waned. Most Saturdays you'll find me in Dublin Zoo with my son, holding him up to the glass so he can see the monkeys better. I'm also interested in business and politics, sometimes directly involved and other times just observing.
