Trócaire at the Festival of World Cultures in Dun LaoghairePrinter-friendly version

Summer at the seaside - what could be better?  Why not come and meet the Trócaire campaigns team during the Festival of World Cultures in the lovely coastal town of Dun Laoghaire this weekend!

This annual event is a big hit with the young at heart of all ages.  With hundreds of exhibits, stalls and activities, it's no wonder it's impossible to find parking. (Seriously, if you have to travel, take the DART or bus!  I learned my lesson last year...)

Try something new by making your very own button badge at the Trocaire stand in the County Hall, or find out why we're so excited about Tipperary Turnip seeds this year.  (Hint:  It's something to do with our partnership with the Irish Seed Savers Association.)

At the festival, we are continuing our campaign against hunger in the County Hall - highlighting the scandal that 1 in 6 people on our planet face hunger every day.  We are also working with Comhlámh in the Trade Routes area in the Harbour Plaza.  Come and meet the Unfair Trade Wolf (in Sheep's Clothing) and help yourself to a floaty white Trócaire balloon.  You can download a pdf of the full festival programme here.

If you would like to take time out for some spiritual reflection, Fr Pat Managan has invited Trocaire to speak at all Masses in the Church of St Michael the Archangel this weekend.  It would be lovely to see you there.

Please sign our petition calling for An Taoiseach to speak out against hunger at the UN Summit in September!

If you are thinking about becoming a Trócaire campaigner, Orla Quinn would love to hear from you!  You can reach her at oquinn [at] trocaire.ie for more information, or call (01) 6293333.
