Trócaire appoints new development officer

Trócaire has appointed Lawrence McBride as a new officer for the North West, based in Derry City. A native of Derry, with family connections in Tyrone, Derry and Donegal, Lawrence has been working for Trócaire for the past 6 years from its Belfast office.

Lawrence has previously worked in various roles for Trócaire, visiting the organisation’s overseas partners particularly in Latin America, Central & East Africa and Palestine. Recently he has led Trócaire’s human rights work in the North on issues such as Child Labour, Palestine and Climate Change.

Lawrence’s appointment covers the Dioceses of Derry, Raphoe and parts of Clogher & Armagh (counties Derry, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Donegal ) and will involve travelling throughout the region to explain  the very real contribution the community in the North West makes to lives of the poorest people in the world.
