Your gift will help children like the Burmese refugees in Ban Tractor Camp on the Thai-Burma border
Young refugee children are extremely vulnerable and most at risk of malnourishment. There are currently over 7000 students at the Ban Tractor Camp and over 400 teachers.
Law Reh, the Director of the Karenni Education Department at the camp told us, "Some people had no opportunity to go to school in Burma. They had no basics when they got here. But students can start at age five at kindergarten and have ten years of schooling, until they are 15. We also have post-high school places but they are limited," added Law Reh. "Some people are then trained to be teachers in primary schools or they work for community-based organisations. But their only opportunities are within the camp."
