A home in Honduras
Communities in northern Honduras were evicted from their homes over 12 months ago.
With support from Trócaire, they are now returning home.

“I dream that next year we’ll have a house of bricks,” she says. But right now her focus is on survival.
Her community in north Honduras is campaigning for the right to own land in a region controlled and owned by corrupt businessmen.
Joaquina's community is frequently attacked by the landowner’s militia, murdering people and burning houses.
Joaquina (pictured right with her family and our own Sally O'Neill) recalls gathering her children in her arms and running the first time the army came.
“Now each time they burn down our homes, we simply start again,” she says.
This gift will help brave women like Joaquina rebuild their destroyed homes until the time comes when the land and a brick home is hers.
