It examines the drought in east Africa, focusing on the causes and effects of the drought in Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia. The interactive whiteboard activities and image slide show offer opportunities for students to develop critical thinking, empathy and communication skills. Accompanying worksheets include questions and activities encouraging students to be active citizens by ‘Speaking Up and Speaking Out’ about east Africa. Teacher's notes are also included.
