Chinya (Post Primary School) Chinya is designed to assist you and your students explore development from a global perspective. It is also relevant to the study of CSPE. There are two subjects of focus: the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the country of Malawi.

Today, the expectation both in Irish, UK and international law is that men and women are equal and treated accordingly. Yet gender inequality remains a feature in every region in the world. In developing countries where Trócaire works, this inequality is exacerbated by extreme poverty.
Exploring Gender Equality Through a Global Lens: Post Primary Religion/ Key Stage 3 and 4 Educator's Resource The theme of this Religious Education Resource is Gender Inequality and the adverse effects this has on poverty levels and related issues in developing countries. There is also included a section on Catholic Social Teaching with a particular focus on Populorum Progressio. This encyclical highlights the role we all can play in creating a just world and was influential in the founding of organisations like Trócaire.
